Welcome to Find a Grocery Buddy (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using findagrocerybuddy.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”).

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

These Terms apply to all users, including donors, recipients, and visitors.

  1. About Our Service

Find a Grocery Buddy connects individuals and families in need of groceries (“Recipients”) with people who want to help (“Donors”).

We act as an intermediary to securely verify need, process payments through PayPal, and place grocery orders through Instacart on behalf of donors.

All recipient applications are manually reviewed for eligibility before being listed.

All orders are placed directly by our internal team using verified Instacart share links.

We are not a government agency, charity, or financial institution.

  1. Eligibility

To use this Site, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Reside within the United States
  • Provide accurate and truthful information when submitting applications or payments


We reserve the right to deny or revoke access for any user who provides false information or violates these Terms.

  1. Payment Processing

All payments are handled securely through PayPal.

We do not process or store full credit card or banking details.

By making a payment, you agree to PayPal’s terms and privacy policy.

  1. Program Support Fee

Each donation includes a Program Support Fee of 3.5% of the total grocery order amount (including delivery tip) plus a $4.95 flat fee.

This fee covers PayPal transaction costs, verification, and administrative expenses.

The full breakdown of every transaction is shown during checkout for complete transparency.

  1. Confirmation

After payment, donors receive:

  • A PayPal transaction confirmation
  • A confirmation email from Find a Grocery Buddy
  • A screenshot of the Instacart order once it is placed by our fulfillment team
  1. Refund Policy

All payments are final once an Instacart order has been placed.

Refunds are only issued if:

  • We are unable to complete the grocery order for any reason, or
  • The transaction was processed in error


Refunds are reviewed manually and issued through PayPal to the original payment method when applicable.

  1. Recipient Applications

Recipients must provide:

  • An Instacart share link
  • Preferred grocery store brand
  • Proof of need (e.g., SNAP letter, government ID, or hardship statement)


All documents are used only for verification and are deleted after approval.

We reserve the right to deny applications that are incomplete, unverifiable, or suspected of fraud.

  1. Privacy and Data Protection

We value your privacy.

All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

In summary:

  • We do not sell or share your personal information.
  • All payments are handled through PayPal for security.
  • Verification documents are deleted after review.
  • Redacted order receipts may appear in our Impact Gallery with your consent.
  1. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use our Site or services to:

  • Misrepresent your identity or eligibility
  • Submit fraudulent or misleading documents
  • Attempt to collect, resell, or exchange SNAP or other government benefits
  • Interfere with Site operations or attempt unauthorized access


Violations may result in permanent suspension or legal action.

  1. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site including text, graphics, logos, and layout is the property of Find a Grocery Buddy and protected by copyright laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content from this website without written permission.

  1. Limitation of Liability

Find a Grocery Buddy provides its services “as-is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, delivery times, or order outcomes beyond our control (e.g., Instacart delivery delays or item substitutions).

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Find a Grocery Buddy, its founders, and affiliates are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Any loss resulting from the use or inability to use this Site
  • Any issues caused by third-party platforms (Instacart, PayPal, etc.)
  1. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Find a Grocery Buddy, its owners, and staff from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

  1. Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate your account at any time
  • Refuse service for misuse or fraudulent behavior
  • Remove content or listings that violate our policies


Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that existed prior to the termination date.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be handled in the appropriate courts of Iredell County, NC.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use periodically to reflect operational or legal changes.

Revisions will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
